Maximum CPU supported ?

Hi, I recently bought a Gigabyte GA-8IHXP motherboard (http://tw.giga-byte.com/products/8ihxp.htm) and I just got a P4 3.06 processor and I am wondering if this board will support it. I know the last bios update says "Supports Intel Pentium 4 Processor with Hyper Threading Technology" so does that mean it will? If anyone could help me out, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I can see no reason why not it would not be supported as its advertised as Intel® Pentium 4 Processors 1.4GHz - 2.80GHz or higher.
But like you know there is no official info on this.

Edit..just found pcs for sale with your mb and the 3.06ht cpu for sale so it must support it.

yah seems like it is supported

might consider checking the website for any bios updates for your mobo to see if it needs updating to utilise hyperthreading

just a thought...
