max gb xp can use?

The limit on HD size you can recognize is limited by your IDE controller not XP. XP will support drives much larger than what your IDE controller will support.

terrabytes with XP, soon as they make 1 on usb 2 or firewire,

ignoring hardware its all down to the filesystem. for example FAT32 has a limit of about 80GB before it gets useless. Also FAT32 has a maximum file size of 4GB. NTFS on the other hand has no limitations that currently exist, though the max filesise is in the 16 Terabyte range, so this is currently not a problem. This is per disk not as a total.

Then you just got to look at your hardware to see what the current max supported size is.

haha dude im gonna do that:D

i could have my own audio galaxy in my pocket

It depends on what file system you are using.

checkMicrosoft Technet for more information.

This is referring to volumes. There is a difference between drives and volumes. A volume may consist af many HD's.
