Mass driver disk

Hi OSNN folk.

I'm a PC repair person When i'm out on a job I often need to get drivers for my customers hardware.

Now i've got a disk with all the usual stuff on there (ATI/nVidia Graphics, nForce boards, Creative sound cards etc) but my question to you lot in the know is this...

Is there a disk out there that is full of drivers for pretty much anything? This would save me a lot of running backwards and forwards downloading drivers because my client hasn't got an internet connection or something.

Any advice you can give me would be awesome.

Other than the Windows install disk? No.

There are hundreds of gigabytes of drivers out there. Every new driver release is 10's of megs bigger. No way you could fit any significant number of them on one disk. Not until BluRay is available. Then you'll still need a laptop with a BluRay drive and the ability to network that into a customers machine.

Make your own DVD with the latest VIA Hyperion, Nvidia Geforce, ATI Catalyst, and Creative driver sets on it. That should cover about 20% of your service calls. After that there are just too many to deal with on a disk.

I shudder at the thought of how many bizarre drivers OSNN visitors and members have posted asking for help finding. Laptops are the worst.

I have to concur with LeeJend here, we have a massive amount of really wierd drivers, and everyday it seems more are added to it. Maybe a PE disk could help you out, or your basic Knoppix rescue disk would also be handy to have for a service call.

Cheers for the replies. Think what I’ll do is find the best selling hardware out there and get drivers for that, it won't have to be up to date, just need to get stuff working y'know.

LeeJend hit most of them...
Printers... Epson, HP and brother are some of the most commonly used printers, so get the drivers for each, and the locations of the sites, so you dont have to look them up...
