Mandy 10 & Sound

I cannot get the sound to work, in the configuration it has the correct driver and it has to be initialised (aRTs) I have gone to System/ Configuration/KDE/Sound/Sound System but cannot find aRTs to initialise it, can anyone help.

Apologies my OS is Mandrake 10, but it was in the title of the post.

do you have a built-in soundcard or not? if not maybe you should check whether your card is supported. did you try the commands i posted? please include your specs in next post. thanks
