how do you make it so my mandrake 9.1 laptop can see my 2 xp computers?

You mount the shares:
mount -t smbfs //computer/share /mnt/folder

I think...

k... Krux = stupid linux newb cn you be more specific? :D

Open up a terminal window in linux, cd /mnt then mkdir share

on the windows machine, hit WinKey + Pause then click onto the computer name tab and see what is described as the "Full computer name" (we'll use "box" for the example)
now say you've got a folder shared called "images" go back to the linux console and type

mount //box/images /mnt/share

then cd /mnt/share and issue the ls command (with whatever paramaters you require)

i think thats what they mean... i've never networked win + linux :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
