Apparently, Microsoft has issued the fix, as several news sites are now reporting:

Does this fix the VPN issue you were having?

me goes to install (I am not entirely optimistic - think I had the hotfix version of this one, but thanks - will post back result )

Nope - 'tis just as I feared, this is for the "other" VPN protocol mainly I think, not PPTP like I use - I'll just have to keep waiting and hoping....

Co-incidentally I have just decided to bring this up with the company I freelance for - since they are in the Software magazine top 500 (#169 I think) then maybe M$ will listen to them if they mention the issue more than 'lil ole me!

So I too will post back as and when M$ make their position clear on this.

OK - this is something of a thread resurrection - but you can blame Jewelzz brilliant idea for that!

That and the fact I thought it just conceivable that this post might be helped by a resurrection....

Guess I'd better go and edit in a cross link now... *sigh*
