Mafia problems

Mafia crashes on me after splash screen... the first time i ran it, it said i needed some video codec for it. can anyone help me?

have you done a clean install of XP-SP1 ??
if so the problem is that M$ removed this codec from XP-SP1
& now wants you to buy the current Indeo codec from
http://indeo.ligos.com.

if you dont fancy paying for the the codec
your gonna have to do a repair install with the original XP CD
then upgrade to SP1 this way you'll keep the codec & Mafia will work fine.

A friend of mine had that problem but just alt-tabed back in to the program and it worked, all it missed was the first video with the guy and the tattoo

nevermind i fixed it . i found the indeo video codec for xp...i knew i had it somewhere, just never installed it. thankx for the help tho

Yeah it is a dirty trick

I was well fuming when I found out

I thought an upgrade was to add things not take them away

hahaha... who uses Indeo nowadays anyway.

Even blizzard have been moved to the way of the DivX. Anywayz... its not all that hard to find the older free versions of indeo =)
