Windows cannot find helpctr.exe
For no obvious reason I am now unable to call up "HELP" which I have been using without problems. I have searched including the Recyle Bin without sccess.
What has gone wrong and how do I restore it without having to reinstall XP

T.J. if you've recently cleaned your registry with Easy Cleaner, you'll find that to be your culprit. You should be able to restore from the backup produced by Easy Cleaner providing you had the undo box checked in the options.
If this isn't what happened I'm afraid you'll have to wait for additional help from someone who is more knowledgable than me.:(

If you right click the start button and choose explore, it should be in the WINNT folder. one in prefetch and one in pchealth.

Thanks westy1
I ve found the folder or files such as HELPCTR.EXE-3862B6F5.pf
However, due to my limited knowledge, what do I now do, to enable "HELP" to open, and not give the cannot find message.

Why if "helpcenter" appears to exist, do I get this message

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
