I have been put in charge of finding a programmer for the development of an database like application. I work for General Electric and the job will be contracted through Adecco. The job will be part time and is geared for people in grad school or working on a undergrad but with work experience already. It is located in Houston, Texas and does require attendance of at least 20 hours a week on site. The pay scale is starting at 16 hr. (But this could fluctuate higher based on candidate).

·Strong programming skills in VB, ASP.net
·In general, well rounded programmer - experience in other program languages
·Network environment exposure
·Create a Shop Floor Control database for data input & storage
·Database must be able to handle multi-user input
·Customize reporting based upon leadership requests
·Support multiple production areas which will influence creating one or multiple databases

If your interested please post interest in this thread and a email address in this form email at com

As always I would like to offer people at OSNN this opportunity before i go to other means.

Since you need a database system, I would not go with anyone that can't show clear proof of having worked on heavy databases and knows how to design them in the proper forms, as well as everything related to it. Ive seen too many bad databases created by people that supposedly studied them in school.

Good luck on your search.

If you're a janitor or typist where I work it is about right.

Our new hire, w/undergrand degree in CS or EE, start at over $25. I'll have to check on what our summer interns make.

Typically part time or short term, i.e. consultant or job shopper get paid higher since they get no benefits package.

Is this by any chance one of those "targeted for foreign national" to get them a green card and the company cheap labor deals?

this is targeted for grad students who want a intership primarlily. :)

Oh.. internships. OK! Because for some reason I was thinking it reflected upon normal salaries.. thinking maybe I just got into the wrong business.

Internships that pay at all are far and few between.

Lol, As i said before this is a intership essentially. And because of export control laws a forign national without a green card coudnt work on it anyways.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
