While I am not sure how pointing out how the average Linux user is a lot brighter at OS administration than the average Windows user could be considered "severe OS zealotry", I can say that I find your idea on someone posting anything pro-MS on slashdot quite amusing. I was merely addressing a gross oversimplification about OS stability and how user administration has a much larger impact than what most people would think, but it seems much easier to stay with the sheep and blame the OS for the user's errors.
There are a good sized faction of people who post on that site who take it as Holy Writ that Linux is innately superior to MS products in every way, shape, and form. Suggesting otherwise (EG your quite valid argument that the admin is as big a part of the box as the OS is) is the equivalent of rubbing yourself with meat tenderizer and steak marinade prior to leaping into a pit filled with starving weiner dogs My post was in no way meant as an attack on you, and if you felt it was , please accept my apology. That 'severe OS zealotry' crack was directed at the slashdot kiddies, not you.
