Ok.... does anybody here hate e-mailing a company (in my case, Logitech) for technical support? i have to admit... i have seen some pretty stupid tech support people in my day.... but sometimes i think the people there take the cake. the past day or two, my scroll wheel on my MX1000 has been acting up.... kinda sticking at places.... slightly harder to turn than normal, and then goes back to normal, then get's rough again, etc... So, in my stupidity, i decided to try e-mailing Logitech about my itty bitty problem. here is what i sent to them in my first e-mail:
Hello. For some reason, my scroll wheel suddenly started to act funny. At first, it was starting to feel somewhat worn, like how some mice's scroll wheels, after long-term use, would spin extremely easily (little effort to make it spin more than one click on it's own momentum). Now, it seems to stick at times, and is easily noticable that it is not spinning as it normally should.
and...... as you can probably guess, since just about EVERY other tech support for some piece of hardware has done this numerous times...... here was their reply:
Dear Ryan,

Thank you for your recent inquiry about your Pointing Devices.

I understand the scroll wheel of your Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse is not working as expected.

To resolve this issue of the scroll wheel of your Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse, please refer to the following URL:

so....... WHOOPIE!!! no help there...... stupid "tech support" should be relabeled "Grade A Idioticly Useless Informant". so.... here was my next reply to that message:
Is there any way you could have somebody help me with the problem that WON'T automatically point me to a driver problem when it is clearly NOT a driver problem? if the software for the mouse can effect how the hardware itself is working, then there is definitely something wrong with the software that has been created for the mouse.
so..... anyone thing i might get some better advice next time? I, for one, am not getting my hopes up....

well..... i believe i was right. a new message has appeared in my g-mail account..... and here is what the reply to my last question was:
Dear Ryan,

HOORAY for NOT you, Logitech! didn't think anybody could stoop that low.....

I remember when I had issues with my MX3100 desktop. I saw the same two emails. After which, I called support and got a RMA issued.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
