hi,
i'm having problem with my linux. It seems tat i encounter problem whenever i boot up my linux. The boot up part which my problem starts is as below:

Setting network parameters : OK
Bringing up loopback interface : OK
Bringing up interface eth0 :

whenever my linux boot up until the third phase above, it'l hang ther for a few minutes. Then after a long time, it'l display "fail to bring up interface" & wil sucess to the GUI.

i would like to know wat leads to this problem? & what's ur advice?
thanks in advance.:(

basically the machine is waiting to get an IP from DHCP or something like that, and that is what is causing the pause

yeah, means you have to configure your network connection (eth0 is the name of your primary Ethernet Card)

Have you installed drivers for your network card, and have you configured the connection properly?

Either make sure everything is set right for the card or set the IP static. That should work.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
