started out on Linux and was ported to windows, so it was Linux client first :D

wine allows you to run non native Linux apps, but the thread is about Linux irc apps - not windows irc apps running on Linux :p

Wine is a translation layer (a program loader) capable of running Windows applications on Linux and other POSIX compatible operating systems. Windows programs running in Wine act as native programs would, running without the performance or memory usage penalties of an emulator, with a similar look and feel to other applications on your desktop.

Another very fine cut and paste job. Not sure just who's question you're answering, though....

irssi is quite clearly the best client EVAR! :D

In reference to Lord's post, he posted what WINE stands for, it's an acronym. I would imagine he is already knowledgeable on the subject ;)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
