Hi all,

trying to figure out why a limited user is able to edit the hosts file.

I tried to deny permissions of the hosts file and then it doesn't work, it allows the limited user to access the blocked websites.

I allow full control of permissions, it blocks the sites, but the limited user can edit the file.

What can I do?

This is for a Vista Service Pack 2 machine.

Thanks

Heeter

Try making the hosts file read only and then give limited users read access only. If they do not have write access they can not change the file but since they have read access the file should still work.

To bad there wasn't a way to make it possible for limited users to have the inability to access certain folders and such.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
