Limit on XP sound scheme wave files?

Is there a filesize limit on the .wav files I use for my sound scheme events for XP? For instance, my start windows wav file is around 13 MB but it only plays at system startup. Same file with different codec (mp3) plays the whole way through, is 1.5 MB, but has a "fuzz" background noise after conversion. If there is a filesize limit, can I disable it? Also, a little off topic but can I make it so the windows sound scheme editor will allow playback of music files other than .wav? Thanks.

It is not possible to MP3 files in you Windows Sound Scheme.
I am not sure about your first question, I believe it is possible through a group policy editor, but since I have Windows XP Home Edition, I can't check that out.

sorry for the late reply to my own question (I forgot) but I have XP home too.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
