Haven't seen Leadtek make any mobos before... I know that they make great gfx cards. Can anyone tell me whether their mobos are reliable and fast? Any other features or comments that might sway me to buy from them instead of ASUS or other companies?

Thanks.

IMO asus is still better...

leadtek came out with a decent nforce2 platform but the layout was not the greatest...

however the performance is fast and the boards are reliable...

there is onen review for you...

I love my ASUS A7N8X Deluxe (nForce2 chipset). I would suggest that; jam-packed full of features and laid out well.

Thanks for the replies Sazar and melon. What other boards do you recommend then? I was thinking (in order of preference) ASUS, Leadtek, Epox, MSI, and Abit.

Thx again.

if price is not a problem... get the asus....

IMO it has one of the nicest board layouts and it has dual nics onboard :)

the nforce2 solution from asus all teh way...

after that perhaps msi/epox will come next...

My Opinion

I've been making computers for years.
The sad part is every socket generation someone does a better job then the others.
ASUS - has always been a quality name.
Gigibit - Great boards
MSI - Good quality nice price.
Tyan - Except on their slot A (They screwed up big on those)
Epox - I've gotten a few bad eggs
Abit - Ditto
Leadtek - I've never bought one of theirs
ECS - Few bad eggs decent boards.
Sanyo - Some kick butt boards
Gainboard - A little unknown company cheap boards a few bad eggs also.

-The a few bad eggs comment means: get some DOA's so I have to get an RMA and return them for another.(Even when I paid to have them test the board)

I recommend doing your homework before buying a new board.
Check overclocker sites, and impartial testing sites to find the best board for your CPU/RAM.

I would suggest waiting 'till the sledgehammer comes out it will drop prices on the 32bit CPU's Boards etc.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
