Saz, please post your thoughts about the XPS M1210. I need a traveler. The D420 doesn't have integrated CD which won't work for me.

What integrated brand of NIC does the M1210 come with? I dislike Broadcom.

Anything new coming down the pipeline (that you are aware of) for portable notebooks?

Re: New latitude D-420/620 and 820 and Inspiron discussion

The 1210 is pretty good. It's light, the extended battery really appeals to me vis a vis the base one primarily because I am a fan of being wireless longer ;)

Not sure of the NIC, I have only ever used it wirelessly.

Not aware of anything else coming down the pipeline soon.

The 420's dock btw is actually quite low profile. The only thing I don't like about the 420 is lack of a discrete video card (for vista) :(

The 1210 is also built differently than the inspirons, i.e. its sturdier, a lot like the latitudes.

Re: New latitude D-420/620 and 820 and Inspiron discussion

I'd like longer battery life so I'd prefer the Intel 950 over the Nvidia card. But for Vista I should probably go for the Nvidia card.

What do you think?

Re: New latitude D-420/620 and 820 and Inspiron discussion

I think you're secseh.

And I think you should go discrete.

:smoker:

Saz: Whats the scoop on the 430 / 630 / 830 ?

Apparently out next month and features a new intel chipset / cpu?

Sign up for the NDA roadmaps.

I think Matt has. Coz he's cool like that.

No major changes that I am aware of.

Earlier in this forum there was an error that users were receiving with the Wave Security Suite of "Applicationi Could Not Launch". Here is the fix:

1. First, go to Program Files\Wave Systems Corp\Common\NTRU12
2. Copy the file tcg15.dll
3. Go to C:\Windows\System32 (the same in XP and in Vista)
4. Place the new tcg15.dll file into the System32 folder
5. Say Yes to Overwrite the file

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
