Hello all, it's not often I have a problem...but it's just one of those days...

My laser printer (Lexmark 4039 10R) stopped working a few weeks ago, and always gives me this error:

931 Service Error
Printhead Error

I found this article

however, I can't do numbers 1 and 2 because i can't access the menus because of the error.

So I'm at number 3...what does a printhead look like? Where should I look?

Look at the cartridge cradle and there should possibly be a small circuit chip that the cartridge makes contact with.
If you can take the whole assembly out with your type of printer , having removed the ink cartridge, do so.
If its possible, you can try to clean this and the underneath path manually with isopropol alcohol used for cleaning cds etc.
A similar sort of thing used to happen with old Cannon printers .

there are no ink cartridges in laser printers...it's toner.

and i've looked high and low, EVERYWHERE for gold contacts...they are not in plain sight, even with the toner removed.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
