Laptop Screen......?

How does one clean the Screen on a Laptop. My instuctions dont mention it....THX to anyone who replies....

Get anti static monitor wipes, wet it ever slightly, and well, wipe the screen.

Then get a dry antistatic, and gently wipe it.

I use Kensington Surface Guardian Lint Free Wipes for my flatscreen LCD.

i just use a soft cloth and some water with a little mild soap.

Soap?!?

That scares me. The intruction booklet stricktly states do not use any substance other then water.

in the sink i just put a tiny dab of hand soap, fill with some water, and dip a corner of a soft cloth in it. the little bit of soap is just to break up an fingerprints and oils that are on there. i seriously doubt it causes any damage to the screen. mine still looks fine.

the warnings that you see are to keep people from using window cleaner or anything ammonia-based, as that will damage the plastic.

If it's just dust, all you need is a soft dry cloth.
If there are fingerprints etc., just wet it slightly, wipe them off, and then dry the screen with a dry cloth.

i use Mr Muscle window cleaner with added vinegar, mines fine bit of old rag from the kitchen........

yeah, once i used a motor oil and bleach combination... worked pretty well.

Nice soft cloth very slightly dampened with a touch of washing up liquid. This beats all the "professional" cleaners.
