Laptop Infrared Problem

Hi gang just a quick question i have a Dell Inspirion 7500 with Win XP Pro installed. I did have Win 98 SE on it and used my Infrared Port at times.

Since i have installed XP Pro the system does not see it i have tried adding the Network Connection but it still does not see the Infrared to give it as an option.

Anybody any ideas i just cannnot find it??????

Try going into your bios and seeing what settings or mode you have set for the IR, mabey if itis in legacy u can turn it off or vice versa....... i had a similar problem with my PCMCIA ports on my toshiba
