when i select standby or hibernation, i get this error:

The device driver for the 'Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver.

i closed all the appz and it did the same thing..

HELP ME!!!!

yea.. i removed and updated the driver through device manager and it still gives the same message..

it used to work before.. but all of a sudden it has started doing this

are u using a logitech internet keyboard by any chance?

im using a "Netropa Smart Keyboard"

its actually designed for Win95/98/NT but i still like it.. its a cool blue colour.

i tried to upgrade the software for the keyboard but it still didnt work.. i think i should remove the software entirely and then try hibernating, because that may be conflicting with the standby/hibernation process

Can i delete the drivers for my keyboard and let XP automatically install the drivers again?
if so.. what are the file names for the drivers??

yeah...you can try that

right click on my computer and pick properties

then click the hardware tab and click device manager

click the plus sign next to keyboards, highlight any instance of a keyboard that is there, and click action-> uninstall (do this for all keyboards listed if more than one) and then reboot. Windows will install a new driver when you restart

hey it worked.. thanks man

i tried that b4.. but i realized i still had my software for my keys installed so it just defaulted back to the drivers which came with my software.

so now my extra keys dont work... i didnt use em ne ways.. and sum keys automatically work like my volume stuff and standby

thanks :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
