Hi to all,

Last night I format my Hard Drive and did a clean install of Windows 98 SE. When I boot into Windows desktop successfully, I got a new hardware Found message and told me found my HP DeskJet 720C, instead of click Next, I click Cancel (because I don't have the original driver CD and I have to download the driver from HP). After getting into Windows Desktop, I download the HP DeskJet 720C driver from HP and click on the executable file and install the HP Software and driver automatically onto my computer. Everything is fine after install the driver. But I have a problem. After reboot my PC, I still keep getting a new hardware found message of HP DeskJet 720C when I boot into my Windows every time, so I would like to know how can I get rid of this annoying message?

Please help and thanks for your help in advance.

Try going into the device properties and updating the driver that way instead of running the HP install, and select the driver you downloaded.

The install program from HP, could be at fault.

Try looking in safe-mode for another 720C that is not installed

Thanks for all your propt reply but the problem is the up-to-date driver is a all in one driver + software exe package and there is no way to install driver and software separately.

Please advise more.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
