with frightgod...what a kick

frightgod...this is so much fun, you should all try it.

here's a screeny

so, here's a play by play;

frightgod's box was slowed by the application, since all his info wa being sent.

he's got an incredible set up, a gig of ram, tons of hardrive space...like 150 gigs or something...super fast stuff too

now, my box has only a 1 gig processor, and right now, I'm down to 250 mbs of ram

but my box operatied normally, and ws not bogged by this experiment.

frights had all of the weight on it.

also, as a security precaution the way it's set up, I can look at his box, and give instructions, but I have no access what so ever.

this is good

we think that with remote desktop, and user accounts, we'll be able to really have some fun

I sent frightgod some of my great porn links, and that was the only thing I could actually help him with, as he pretty much knows more then me on jsut about everything else.

this ws so much fun...ya got to try it

...and I've included a screenshot of how things looked from my end.

OK, well first off, it's supposed to be freightgod not frightgod lol but anyway, as doler was saying...

This could be a really useful tool and I highly recommend giving it a go. It would be very very interesting with an mic and camera setup.

It seems the host or "inviter" has resources hobbled depending on "invitee"'s connection speed, but I would like to confirm this in actual usage.

p.s. dealer where are those links btw

dolar opologizes

also, make sure when you use my real name, (perris), you don't make this two "r's" look like one "n"

cuz that would be no fun at all, let me tell you

ya, I'm on a very slow, (28k), wireless connection, and we're hoping this had something to do with the bog on freightgod's box.

also, there was a tremendous lag, this is almost definately my connection speed, but get this

I could watch freight's typing in real time, (minus lag), and I could actually answer him before he hit send.

this was cool

I'm not sure I even understand this...

Send an invite through email or MSNM. If I can do it you can too. The 1st time I used remote assistance was with a friend in Oz. The last time, |PK| was helping me set something up. Both times I gave comeplete control over to the other end and just watched them.

J, how do you give control up to the remote user using Remote Assistance? I've done it with Remote Desktop, but didn't see any options in Remote Assistance. Is you confusing the two?

Send the invite, once the person on the other side accepts your machine will ask if you want to give them control.

Wow I never even noticed. I'll have to try that again. Thanks, J.

Hear that, Dealer? We gotta try this again tommorrow.

And where's those pron links anyway...

I must have a 'service' turned off. When I send the email I get "A program could not start. Please try again." It would be good if it said what program.

So the person that needs help is the one who sends the email?????

Either one can send it Hipster. When you're bored enough let me know, I'll send you an invite so you can see what it's all about :)

You're Welcoem Freight :)

Another step closer. Had to turn on the 'Remote Desktop Session Manager'. Now when I send the email it says 'Click OK if you would like to save the invitation & send it to your fried yourself.'

blah blah blah

Forget about the above I just figured it out by saving then opening the file it created.

I'm bored.

xpontology@Phreaker.net :)

I think it is still failing. I have to turn something else on. Trying now.

This is what I get>

Any ideas?

Is that when you're trying to connect to my computer through the invite?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
