JMicron JMB361

Why would I ever need that? Is it any better than just using the normal IDE controller?

I only have one IDE device (my DVD writer) so it is worth using the JMicron stuff?

intel boards don't have normal IDE controllers these days, thats why you have the jmicron. Otherwise you can't use your CD/DVD drives :)

I disabled mine in the BIOS though and I'm still using my DVD drive no problem!

You disabled the RAID part. The standard IDE part can't be disabled. Otherwise you wouldnt be bale to use your CD/DVD drives :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
