i have read many articles about wma 9 being the best codec around and i think it may well be true but still people still use any other codec than wma also it has been said that wma has improved 20% on other encoders so why do people generally think of wma as scum of the earth heres a link which explains in more detail i just want your views

If you want the best quality lossy codec, use MPC [Musepack]

If you want the best lossless coded, use Flac or Monkey's Audio

If you want the most compatibility with portables and DVD players etc, use LAME mp3 Encoder Version 3.90.2 using --alt-preset standard as your command line.

Also recommend that you use Exact Audio Copy to rip your cd's

So, to answer your question, no, WMA 9 is far from being the best codec. It's better than older versions, but it's still the bottom of the barrel.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
