When my pc is shut down I can start up by pressing the space bar,I built it myself and as it was my first attempt I dont know if I have boobed or not?

Some motherboards/BIOS give the option to allow you to have a hotkey to bnootup your system. Check out your BIOS for the option and then you can change it.

Yeah, it's supposed to do that because you have it set to "wake" on that type of event. The 'wake on' events can be toggled in the bios.
