Is there a Messaging Service available?

erm... some or most of you may have come across this pre-XP SP2 where one can send a popup message to another person using windows in the same domain/workgroup. This was disabled when SP2 came out which was good and bad.
I'm wondering if this is now available in vista. Can't seem to locate it in Services. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong place.

The Messenger Service (net send) is no longer included.
There are a few free third-party tools that serve the same purpose though.

To get around this, you can msg the console session
msg console "Time to stretch"
or
msg /SERVER:computername console "Time to stretch"
