Is PartitionMagic 7.0 safe?

I recently had 2 IBM 40GB HDs crash and when I returned them to the store the owner swears that the only reason for the crashes was because I used PartitionMagic 7.0 with Windows XP. Has anyone else had this problem or heard of this being a possibility? I like PM but now I’m unsure whether or not to use it again.

thats complete BS, unless you did something horribly unsafe with the drives

Partition Magic 7 is designed to be compatible with XP.

Ive used it quite a bit and haven't had any problems.

If I were in your position, I'd be compelled to ask the store owner for the technical reference for his claim that Partition Magic somehow buggered up the drives... and then I think I'd keep doing it until he voluntarily upgraded me to a drive that didn't flake out on me. ;)

Me, too i have no problem with it...

I’ve never had a problem with other versions of PM so I pretty much figured the store owner was trying to cover for his own incompetence and faulty products ... just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the replies.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
