Is the incoming and/or outgoing of IGMP common or important? Would just like to know because I want to block any hacker-friendly connection types.

Incomming and outgoing IGMP are important. You want to make sure these packets are comming from your gateway. Any port is hacker-friendly to someone experienced. My advice would be to download a firewall like "tiny" (free at download.com). And set rules only for software you are running. Even then you wont be hack proff but at least you'll have some protection. for more info on IGMP see the following web site. http://www.networksorcery.com/enp/protocol/igmp.htm

If it is a real hacker and not just a script kiddie then all connections are hacker friendly. :D

Any of the SP crew still out there?
