is 1.8ghz p4-M and 1gb enough

to run vista - any version? i wont use aero as its a laptop and only 32meg onboard video card (readon 7500) - just changed mem from 256 to max 1024 that the laptop can see - evo n610c

bit hesitent because of all the things i have been reading about it, buggy slow unstable, reporting things to ms

have a amd 64 x2 4200 with 1gb in it and wonder if that will handle it (do a lot of cce encodes on threre) with xp running it hits 800meg sometimes and seeing as vista eats near 400meg striaght out the door

looks like it is but should you like me have a radeon 7500 mobility card in there vista wont see it - so you will have to use the 9000 mobility vista driver that comes with vista, you just have to click update driver - untick show compatiaable drivers and select mobility radeon 9000 and reboot and it seems to work ok
