Internet connection query

Hi

I'm new to the board

I own a 1.7GHZ processor and currently own Windows XP Home Edition

I am having problems connecting to the internet when the system loads up. I click on my shortcut on the desktop and the system hangs. I have to hibernate the system to get it fixed. Is there any other way around this - some times I wait 10 minutes to use it - but this shouldn't happen.

Also when I try to disconnect the status bar freezes and it takes 5 minutes for it to disconnect

I hope someone can help me resolve this problem

Many thanks I look forward to hearing from you.

What kind of connection is it? Dialup, DSL, cable? What ISP?

I think I've seen this question before. Try searching the forum to see if it has been discussed before (search button top-right of the page).

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
