ok so I get a nice little error from scandisk that says

"At least one area of drive C has sustained physical damage. Although such damage might be caused by an isolated incident such as a power failure. It is often a sign of impending hardware Failure."

Now scandisk will not go past 2 percent then restarts&restarts and restart until i klik cancel. But norton diskDR. says everything is Fine?

Any Ideas on this? I figure i could format and has bios mark them as bad sectors or is the HDD destined for the trash heep?

Any help would be great.

mmmmmmm who to trust microsoft or norton? Niether. I'd have a spare hard drive sitting aound just in case.

Try booting to a win98 boot cd and run chkdsk....do a dir to make sure thats the right spelling.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
