Intel Pentium D 950 vs ?????

What is the counterpart to the Intel Pentium D 950 800MHz FSB LGA 775 Dual Core Processor, with AMD?

And once answered which cpu would be better to get? it would be an all rounder, games dvd-decoding/encoding. internet movies etc...

Last I heard these new processors will be available in July/August. They are supposed to blow current Intel offerings out of the water.

I don't keep up on AMD offerings since I am biased to Intel. Someone else should be able to shed some light on it for you.

well i just read extremetechs review on the duo, and i have to say you are right matt, i'm going intel, i feel a little sick as i've always been an AMD fan.

Do you have any idea on pricing at all?

Intel has said pricing will be more competitive with the newer lines. Only time will tell though.

I spent $650 on my Intel Pentium D 950. So I hope I don't have to spend that much again.
