has Intel regressed in time or somethin? was cruising around Newegg..... and i found This. socket 478 Intel Core Duo. what happened to LGA775? and what happened to 800Mhz FSB?

still. what was the point of them going on and on and on about LGA775..... having it out for what..... nearly 2 years now? then suddenly deciding "hey.... let's go back to socket 478".

LGA allows for better packaging and cooling for the p4's. Pentium M tech is still based to a degree off of p3's.

It still makes sense.

Besides, since this is the first I am seeing of this item, I wonder if it has anything to do with apple's new desktop products? I wonder if those are using 478 procs.

You should totally check out their new core processors. Infact, there is an Intel Live Chat event on the 26th of Feb where in-house Intel experts will take questions on anything and everything about their processors. Check that out. Intel live Chat

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
