Can anyone offer some assistance. I have a laptop which I need to install Windows XP on, problem is the internal cd/dvd drive is knackered and all I have is an external USB CD Drive. I can boot from floppy but cant get the USB drive recognized to install XP.

Any ideas?????

The easiest way to accomplish this is to enable USB support in your laptops BIOS and make the CD-ROM drive bootable. Then boot directly to the XP CD.

Reg is right, you gotta go into the BIOS.. make the USB CD Drive your FIRST BOOT DRIVE. that should solve you right up.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
