Installing Ubuntu II

Hey !

I am new into all the linux things.. i got from a friend a ubuntu cd case with a live cd and and installation cd.

I created a new partition on my sec. HD and i ran the installation cd and it installed it all.

In the end of the installation i got asked to install a boot loader cause it detected XP also and i OK'd that.

After the reboot, i am now on XP and i cannot manage to go into the ubuntu drive.

but on Partition magic i can see that the installation is there..

how can i boot into ubuntu ?

btw, it is ubuntu 5.10... when i manage to get there, i will update to last version...

Ok...

I checked out some online guides and Grub cannot load on a secondary drive - slave partition..

so i am gonna install again.

ubuntu 6.06 (dapper drake) is the newest build, i suggest you instal that instead

i wouldn't, many people having installation problems, install older one, then update!
