Hey all

I Have a P5W DH DELUXE Motherboard, it was a ready made computer.
The computer came with a 160GB Serial ATA II Hard drive, as its quite small i have ran out of room. I've removed my old Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 120GB ATA/133 Hard drive from my old computer and i'd like to place it as a secondary HD in my pc. On that hard drive i've set the jumpers to Slave or spare. From what i can tell it only had the old and big IDE Cable support and power supply port, where as the HD installed at the moment uses a very thin red wire. Can i install this older IDE HD into my new PC, theres a big IDE port on the motherboard... an IDE Cable came with the Mobo which says CD Rom Cable on it but i assume i can use that? Vista is installed on the Current HD.
Is it possible to plug this old HD, is it easy? What do i need to do? I'm good with computers but a noob when it comes to HD's if you could please help ASAP that would be great. Thanks

Ste

you can put that old 120gig drive in the new machine. i assume you must have a cdrom in there now, in which case between the cdrom and the 120gig drive one needs to be slave and the other master. if you dont have a cdrom on the same ide ribbon then set the drive as master.
and as for the IDE cable that came with the mobo try it, if it cant read the 120 gig drive then you do need a new ribbon for an HDD. there is a difference and it has costed me hours in the past.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
