There it is, have no idea how to fix it. I tried something from MS webpage to copy the files over from the XP cd, and nothing helped :(. Thanks in advance.

also i think RPC server is a service least i think it is, is so restart it.

Thanks for all the info lancer. I tried that app that you linked to and nothing, I think its installershield not windows installer...if there is a diff? I have tried restarting the service and seeing if it needed other services to run, and nothing. I normally wouldnt care if sometimes doesnt work on my system, but this is one of those important things :p.

I have sp2 and yes I have updated/scanned with avg.

Let me guess...you used a services tweak guide and disabled it. :p
Nice job, Mastershakes. :)

hehehe, I got a good laugh out of it too.

On his site though, this is what he has listed
DCOM Server Process Launcher *

Additional information coming soon.

Default XP Home: Automatic
Default XP Pro: Automatic
Safe Setting: Automatic

Service name (registry): DcomLaunch

Dependencies:

What service DCOM Server Process Launcher needs to function properly:

* None

What other service require DCOM Server Process Launcher to function properly:

* None

So I just thought I would try it out for the hell of it :D Looks like from now on I will be shutting them down one at a time

heh, nope. Thought maybe I would just try it :D

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
