Install Probelm! Plz Help

plz someone help me , when i load setup.exe it starts up and then says "an installiation support file could not be installed , unspecific error"



anyone help me ?


AND IM not using a downloaded or burned copy!

it genuine.

what program are u trying to install?

if it's a legal copy contact the company......get another copy from them.

GTA3

im trying to install gta3 and ive already got 2 copies of it, and it does the same thing.!

any help ?

check the GTA 3 patch article, download that update then try. Also make sure that you havent got any compatiblity settings applied to the setup file. Windows remembers them.

FIRST AND FOREMOST see if it will install on a friend's system.

second make sure you meet all the requirements.

then scandisk, clean unneeded files, defrag.

try again.

Still doesn't work... play with the your hard drive maintenance stuff.

Maybe find a downloadable ap from your hard drive maker.

if all else fails format c: !!

Ive read on other forums that this game and XP are not getting along. Theres suppose to be a large fyi giving instructions on how to get things working. Might I suggest you go to the offical websites and read the information there. This is also compounded if you have a Nvidia card.
Think the last thing I read is that there is a major patch coming out to address these issues... but Im not really sure.
