Information about speed of internet connection

After installing windows XP pro , I was getting popup information about speed of the internet connection just after dialing up to my Internet provider. Now it's gone. How can i restore it? Please help!!!

Go to Control Panel> Network Connections> right click on your connection. On the bottom of that first page is the option to 'Show icon in notification area when connected.' Give that a tick.
