img tags and long URIs

Universal Resource Identifier, a web address in this case.

A URL is a type of URI, but yeah, I suspect the *'s are causing the problem, not the length.

URI
Short for Uniform Resource Identifier, the generic term for all types of names and addresses that refer to objects on the World Wide Web. A URL is one kind of URI

URL
Abbreviation of Uniform Resource Locator, the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web.

The first part of the address indicates what protocol to use, and the second part specifies the IP address or the domain name where the resource is located.
:p

it also has an issue when you put in a URL (yeah I said it, U R L :p) for an avatar ... too long of a URL and it no likey it.

This has always been a limitation of vbulletin, it is to prevent side scrolling.
If it is constantly an issue I will increase the wordwrap setting, msn is not the best host for image hosting anyway

Well it's free and allows hotlinking. I don't see how the side-scrolling issue should affect things in img tags though

Suppose so, would of thought it viable to break the contents of img tags into a separate variable though.

So would I, I am posting these bits to the bug tracker tho, so we will see how things go.

There suggestion was to increase the size of things before it wraps...
In all honesty tho, does anyone type rediculously long text with it not being a URL?

unless its like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! which we would remove, warn and slap.
So might increase it to 100 or so? :)

It would need to be quite long for these (admittedly, ridiculous) URL's though..
