IIS on standalone XP Prof.

Is it possible to run IIS on a standlone pc? I don't see why not?

We are trying to run IIS on a XP prof standalone that has a basic modem dial up connection for the net.

IIS won't work (to run a web page for testing) UNLESS the dialup connection is active... I can kind of understand why, but surely this should be possible?

We have tried diabling the DialUp etc, but it just won't work.

ANY ideas greatly appreciated!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
