I'm having a problem with windows. When on the net a warning sign come up (windows is shuting down "ntathoritysystm remote proceedure call ppc service). Does anyone know what this means and the cure?

yes.. you have a virus. The RPC exploit one. !google remote precedure call or rpc exploit.
I think thats what that is. I dont know. blah blah blah.
You should be able to just shut down the service. I think.

The problem only happens when on internet not when just rebooted

Rescaned with latest norton updates no virus found problem still persists

You have RPC open. When the message comes up, goto Run and type shutdown -a, that will prevent the shutdown. Next, goto www.antivirus.com and scan your computer with HouseCall because you probably have the Blaster worm. It probably compromised Norton so thats no help. After you remove the worm, scan with Ad-Aware and delete anything it finds. Then reboot and you should be fine.

Right click your network shortcut on the desktop. Then click properties. Now right click your ISP connection. Then go to advanced. Turn on the firewall. That will stop you being exploited. Microsoft have put out a patch for it but I just use the firewall.
