Geez, I'm begining to think I have a LOT of problems. PSP, cellphone, etc. All I ever do is complain!

Be that as it may, on my desktop computer at home when I go to shut it down at night or whenever, if I've had IE windows open at some point, I typically get an error message after I've clicked on turn off computer that tells me the program won't close so I have to click END NOW. Oftentimes, after I've booted up, I'll click on either the shortcut in the quick launch bar or the desktop icon or the start menu icon and nothing happens. The program doesn't open or do anything. So, I click it again and then it opens. It's EXACTLY those times that I get that other message when I go to shut down. It's like the first time I click on it and it doesn't work, it screws something up that doesn't cause problems until I go to shut down.

Anyone else ever seen this and if so, what the heck can I do to make it stop!?!?

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE 6.0 and that hasn't helped.

Oh, and I'm too much of a wuss to switch to some other browser so "Switch to Firefox" isn't my solution. :nervous:

It's been a while since I've run it. Of course, I'm at work now but I'll try that when I get home.

What does this program actually tell you?

All the processes you have running on your computer. Some of them are ad programs and etc. that eat up your processor time. I just looked over my list and saw YOUBET.com. How in the heck is THAT still on my computer?

Everything that is running on your PC.

Running Windows Media Center huh?

Get rid of these two, though I don't think that is the problem. What I would suggest is repairing IE ... now looking for the process via google for you...

Try this method, seems rel. painless...

Yeah, I figured that. I didn't look at my hijack log before posting it. There are a few other processes I need to get rid of on there too. How many freakin' processes are on there? 60?? Geez.

What's that 'youbet' thingy?

Online betting mostly for horse racing. There is a thoroughbred race track about 90 miles south of where I live in Arkansas. I go there 2 or 3 times during the race meet which starts in January and goes through April each year. Sometimes, I like to bet online on certain horse races. The winner of the Arkansas Derby in April gets an automatic spot in the Kentucky Derby. A year ago or so, maybe 2, the Arkansas Derby winner was Smarty Jones who also went on to win either the KY Derby, the Belmont, and/or the Preakness. Not the triple crown but I think he won 2 out of 3. Great race horse.

Cool yo, leave that one on there :)

As far as the problem goes, I thought originally that something was sitting on the iexplore.exe process. Keep your task manager open, on the processes tab and organize the list by 'CPU' Start IE, and monitor it's CPU usage. See if it spikes.

Odd issue - though many people seem to have it....

Here is my log. Is there anything suspicious on here and what can i disable to speed up my comp

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
