Every time one of my explorer windows freezes, and I do Ctrl+Alt+Del, it will close all of my explorer windows. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I think you need to enable:-
Launch Folder Windows in a seperate process.
You'll find this entry under "tools" "folder options" VIEW tab from any explorer window.
