when i start up IE the page starts loding then the staus bar goes to full and locks up for about 20 seconds. after IE is already open loding a page is no problem.. just when it first opens or a new window

This could either be a bug (wait for the service pack) or it could be that your ISP isn't set up right. Also have you changed anything in the internet options?

do you have any sort of proxy settings set up? check under your tools, internet options, connections, lan settings and see if any of the proxy boxes are checked, it might be trying to find a proxy server hence the delay

no i don't have any proxy settings or anything like that on... i could've fucked something up..been doing alot of xp tweaks... i wish i could figure out what it is..it's very annoying
