IE problems

i am using internet explorer 6 with Win XP Pro, with all updates, and when i open certain sites, ie closes. anyone know what the problem could be?

does it show some kind of error message, or does it just disappear? does it happen on any particular sites, or just randomly?

for now you could try going into my computer, tools menu > folder options > view tab > check "launch folder windows in a seperate process". This will stop your whole desktop crashing if ie crashes.

yea it just closes without any errors, and its only to paticular sites. it doesn't crash my comp it just closes out all the ie windows..

well if you do that launch thing it will only close the window that crashed, rather than all of them. Since it only crashes on particular site, maybe the site has a bug or something similar. You could try accessing the site with a different browser to see if you have the same problem.

i just tried the site using mozilla and it does the same thing..

If you let us know the url, we could all try it.
That way we could see if it was specific to yoyr pc , or to the website

I've seen it happen a few times, but sadly havent heard of a fix. It might be certain sites you are visiting.

might be spybot or a security program that has it on it's black list
