IE and my issues!

I download a pictures and today i noticed that everytime i click to save a pic it saves it as a bitmap which frustrates the hell out of me cuase i have to go back convert them. Is there a setting I need to check to make it save as jpegs cause im sure not every website i visit now has converted all their pics to large useless bitmaps...

when you go to save there should be a "file type" drop down box which should allow you to save as gif, jpg and others..

if it doesn't give you the option then you don't have any other choice..
