ie 6 address bar

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to get the ie address bar to go straight to a website (i.e. enter a word, and ie will search the templates - www.%s.com, www.%s.org... - to see if there's a website w/that name). My 'search from address bar' pref is set to 'just go to most likely site'. This used to work fine, but stopped for some reason. Any help is appreciated. Thanks :)

Thanks :) But does anyone know how to get it back to working like it's supposed to?

hmmm I remember it doing that too...I never used that feature since I always typed in the last bit..tried it today and that feature is gone, maybe it was removed?

The inline autocomplete for web address option must be checked in the Advanced tab of Internet Options (either in Control Panel or in Tools menu from IE)

thanks again. I'll try the autocomplete, but I really don't like that feature and ie6 used to go straight to the address without that feature enabled. It suddenly stopped, even though i'm still running winxp and ie6. very strange. thanks for all your help :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
