Idle Spin Up On CDR/W

Hey folks!

Lately I have been noticing that when my CDR/W drive is idle, every now and then it will spin up for about 3 seconds, spin down, then sit idle again. This happens about every 20 minutes. It's weird, but it's even more weird when it only does it some of the time.

I have a Panasonic 7585 burner, and up until about a month ago this never happened. I even formatted recently and the same thing. Strange...

What O.S. were u using before ? XP or other ?
Might be the XP accessing your CD from time to time.
There is some registry settings to stop that.

What type of MB do u have ?

read the tweaks... XP has its own burningprogram that messes up everything. If you disable it, the CD-r might run smoother...
